Focus group: West Midlands Combined Authority Area

Discussion topics:

  • Attitudes towards some of the main players in recent political history, including Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer 
  • The national issues that are important to them, including the NHS, housing crisis, poverty, and immigration
  • Local issues that are also effecting them, including bin collection and council tax

Date: 10th June

Recruitment criteria:

  • All in the West Midlands Combined Authority Area (includes Birmingham, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Solihull, Walsall, Sandwell, Coventry, Warwickshire)
  • All to have voted for Andy Street in the 2024 mayoral election
  • Ask voting intention for general election, exclude any intending to vote Conservative
  • Mix of age, sex, SEG

Focus group: Worthing West 

Discussion topics:

  • First leaders' debate of the General Election campaign so far
  • Nigel Farage becoming leader of Reform UK
  • Reflections on the campaign so far, including what voters have seen and how they have felt about it

Date: 5th June

Recruitment criteria:

  • All living in Worthing West
  • All women
  • All age 55+
  • All to own their own home
  • All to not have a university degree

Discussion topics:

  • Opinions on Nigel Farage: his new role as the leader of Reform UK, his recent public and media appearances, and his policies

Date: 4th June

Recruitment criteria:

  • All live in Tunbridge Wells constituency
  • All voted Conservative in 2019
  • 4 currently intending to vote Liberal Democrat
  • 3 currently intending to vote Conservative
  • 2 currently intending to vote Labour
  • Mix of age, SEG, ethnicity
  • 1 aged 18-25

  • All voted Conservative in 2019
  • All currently intending to vote Labour
  • Mix of age, SEG, ethnicity
  • 1 aged 18-25
